A Track Record of Success
Our leadership team has built two companies by identifying a fast-growing disease category undergoing rapid technological change, then partnering with physicians to build and operate state-of-the art facilities dedicated to treating that disease. Hundreds of physician partners saw their practices grow with those two companies.
At NewHope Bariatrics, we plan to develop centers that produce excellent clinical and financial results. We create true partnerships with physicians. And our deeply held values – compassion, ethics and integrity – permeate our track record.
Clinical and Financial Results
Together with our physician partners, we intend to operate facilities that deliver superior clinical and financial results:
 |
We will use benchmarking and best demonstrated practice processes to replicate successful procedures and weed out inconsistencies. At MedCath, our previous company, the national consulting firm The Lewin Group annually compared our clinical results with peer hospitals nationwide. Every report demonstrated that our hospitals, after adjusting for case severity, delivered higher survival rates, experienced shorter patient stays, had a lower complication rate and released a higher percentage of patients to their homes. |
 |
Our discipline and skill at exploiting operational efficiencies also produce excellent business results. Just look at our track record: MediVision, developed and managed by one of our leaders, grew in five years to a company valued at $85 million. MedCath, which our leaders helped develop, was valued at $450 million at its initial public offering in July 2001. |
True partnerships
As co-investors, we bring financial strength to our partnerships. But we also believe that a true partnership involves more than financial commitment. As our physician partner you will have a genuine voice in all critical decision. If you have an idea on how to alter the layout to improve patient care, we'll listen. We will seek out your input on devices, supplies and staffing. And, of course, you will control all clinical decisions.
From this model, together we will create an obesity surgery center focused on bariatric care that attracts more patients and allows you to be more productive. You will be able to treat more patients with a more predictable schedule and fewer headaches.
A Flexible Partnership Model

We believe that there is more than one way to structure a successful partnership. Every market is different, and we look forward to customizing a partnership that makes sense for you and your market. Depending on your market and preferences, we can adjust, for example:
- Location – a free-standing ambulatory surgery center, part of another medical office building, or an addition to your practice's office
- Size of the facility
- Design and layout
- Number of physician partners
- Marketing approach
- Number of operating rooms
- Scope of services offered
Deeply Held Values – Compassion, Ethics and Integrity
We could talk about our values, but you probably will find it more convincing to ask a few of the hundreds of physicians who have previously partnered with the founders. If you need any references, just let us know.
